Prevention and Referral Services
When an individual or family needs specific assistance relating to the protection of vulnerable adults and disabled persons, homelessness or domestic violence, the Department of Children and Families refers them to services in their local communities.
Various programs within the Department provide grant assistance to community-based partners who, in turn, provide direct services to clients. These DCF programs serve as central point of contact within the state and as clearinghouses for information relating to activities within those programs. The Department is responsible for the administration, licensing, and evaluation of these direct providers.
On these pages, you will find information about Adult Protective Services, the Office of Homelessness and the Domestic Violence Program, funding and the community organizations that create a seamless system of services
