Thank you for expressing interest in employment with the North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center.  This page will provide you with general information about the Center and the employment process.  If you have specific questions please write or call the Recruitment Specialist, 1200 N.E. 55th Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32641-2759; Telephone (352) 375-8484, Extension 249.  The Human Resources Office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

The Center has approximately 435 positions with a majority of the jobs being in direct client care.  Most of our hiring is done at the Unit Treatment and Rehabilitation Specialist level.  This is a paraprofessional counseling and patient care position that requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of college with five courses in the social, behavioral, or health-related areas.  We have over 100 of these positions and fairly regular job openings.  We also frequently have openings in professional counseling, medical, clerical, security, maintenance, education, food service, and other support areas.

Most of the paraprofessional and security jobs are shift work.  The day and evening shifts have a thirty-minute meal period. Most administrative and support positions work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  Specific shifts may rotate and are not guaranteed.

All job openings that are to be filled via the People First recruitment system.  Vacancy information may be obtained from the People First Website at: https://peoplefirst.myflorida.com.  You must log onto the website as an applicant in order to access job information.  All applications must be submitted electronically via the People First system.  If you experience any problems with submitting your application, contact People First at 1-877-562-7287.
