Robin Rosenberg

Robin L. Rosenberg is the Deputy Executive Director of Florida’s Children First (FCF). Prior to joining the staff of FCF as Deputy Director in April, 2007 Ms. Rosenberg was a founding board member of FCF and served as Secretary and Litigation Committee Chair. Before joining FCF, Ms. Rosenberg worked for almost ten years at Holland & Knight LLP, serving in the firm's Community Services Team (Pro Bono department) for the last seven years. In that capacity she participated in the settlement of the landmark children's mental health class action lawsuit against DCF and DJJ -"M.E. vs. Bush."  Before joining Holland & Knight Ms. Rosenberg clerked in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida for Senior Judge William J. Castagna (1991-1993) and Judge Henry Lee Adams, Jr. (1995-1997). Ms. Rosenberg holds the highest rating assigned by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

Her professional activities include serving on the Executive Council of the Public Interest Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Florida Bar's Standing Committee on Pro Bono.  Ms. Rosenberg received her B.S. in communication studies with additional majors in urban studies and political science in 1987 from Northwestern University. In 1987-88, she worked for the general counsel of the New York City Department of Transportation as a New York City Urban Fellow. Ms. Rosenberg received her J.D., with high honors, in 1991 from the University of Florida, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Law Review and competing member of the Trial Team. She served as a Jon Mills Fellow at Southern Legal Counsel and as president of the Law Association for Women. Upon graduation, Ms. Rosenberg was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers.

Ms. Rosenberg and her husband, disability rights advocate Barry Shalinsky, have been licensed foster parents since November, 2007.
