Select Advisory Panel for Adult Protective Services

Elderly Couple

It is critical that we address the needs and issues of caring for the state’s most vulnerable adults. The Task Force on Child Protection is currently working to improve Florida’s child welfare system, but we need to make a similar effort to properly protect and provide for our adult population, especially the elderly and disabled.

Mission of the Advisory Panel The mission of the Select Advisory Panel on Adult Protective Services is to provide counsel and advice to the Department of Children and Families on the provision of services to Florida's adult and elder populations. The panel will focus on bolstering inter-agency communication among state Departments serving elders and vulnerable adults and to identify potential statutory, policy or procedural barriers prohibiting effective services for our adult clients.
