At Myron Rolle Wellness and Leadership Academy
CAMP BLANDING, Fla. – Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp and Florida Department of Children and Families Secretary George H. Sheldon today will welcome more than 100 Florida foster youth to the Myron Rolle Wellness and Leadership Academy during the 3 p.m. opening ceremony at Camp Blanding.
Myron Rolle, the former Florida State University football All-American and 2009 Rhodes Scholar who plays for the Tennessee Titans, will speak at the opening ceremony and participate in the camp that inspires foster youth to dream big, work hard and achieve. The Myron Rolle Foundation in 2009 created and sponsored the Academy, in partnership with the Florida Department of Children and Families and Florida National Guard. This year Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches joined the Academy partnership as well.
Other speakers include:
- Adjutant General of Florida Emmett Titshaw, Jr.
- Captain Brad Smith of the Bradford County Sheriff's Office
The Myron Rolle Wellness and Leadership Academy is being held at Camp Blanding, the Florida National Guard facility in Starke.
