FLORIDA CHILDREN AND YOUTH CABINET HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE
TO BRING AWARENESS TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The Florida Children and Youth Cabinet will be hosting a press conference at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 to discuss efforts to battle human trafficking problems in Florida.

Human trafficking is modern-day slavery through forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. In the past year, DCF has investigated more than 400 cases of allegations of human trafficking through child sexual exploitation.

Florida has the third highest rate of trafficking in the nation; half of trafficking victims are children. Our state is a national leader in fighting this horrific crime, and our Human Trafficking Task Forces and law enforcement across Florida work diligently to prevent trafficking and rescue victims.

The press conference will be at the beginning of the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet meeting in the Cabinet Meeting room of the Capitol. The Florida Children and Youth Cabinet meeting will be from 1-4 p.m.
