WHO: More than 60 youth in the foster care system from Central Florida will head off for a once and a lifetime one-on-one experience with Myron Rolle as well as his friends from the NFL and other all-star athletes this Monday. The annual experience for a select group of young people offers an introduction as they build their own healthy lifestyles to include: nutrition, health and wellness, physical fitness and motivation from some of the country's elite athletes.
WHAT: The fourth annual Myron Rolle Wellness and Leadership Academy is sponsored by the Myron L. Rolle Foundation, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the Department of Military Affairs. The four day overnight academy is inclusive within DCF's Camps for Champions series launched last year which creates opportunities for youth in foster care to get up close and personal with professional athletes, to build self-esteem, confidence and strengthen necessary life skills this population will depend on, after foster care.
Special guests to this year's Academy include:
Adam Taliafero - Monday, July 9, 2012 at 6:30 PM - A former standout two-way back at Eastern High in Voorhees, NJ.
