DCF Policy Regarding Human Subject Research
DCF Policy Regarding Human Subject Research

OVERVIEW
As with many of our fellow state agencies, we here at Children and Families interact with Floridians everyday. At times, programs will have the occasion to interact with individuals and/or families through research projects that are designed to develop or contribute to general scientific knowledge.

The Department of Children and Families developed Operation Procedure CFOP 215-8 - OVERSIGHT OF HUMAN SUBJECT RESEARCH AND INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW BOARD DESIGNATION to clarify how and when research using human subjects can occur.

EDUCATION/TRAINING
All investigators and key study personnel must complete initial and continuing education in human research protections annually. Training is available at the Collaborative Institutional Review Board Training Initiative (CITI) web site.*  Select Florida Department of Children and Families as the Participating Institution when registering for this FREE training.
