Florida's Center for the Advancement of Child Welfare Practice

Florida's Center for the Advancement of Child Welfare Practice was developed for use by child welfare professionals throughout Florida. The Center's mission is to support and facilitate the identification, expansion, and transfer of expert knowledge and best practices in child welfare case practice, direct services, management, finances, policy, and organizational development to child welfare and child protection stakeholders throughout Florida. Utilizing three components. Searchable Knowledge Base, Collaboration, and Consultation, the Center will act as a single point of access for information sharing that is consistent, efficient, and accessible at all times.

    • Child Welfare Professional Pre-Service Curriculum posted and broken down into sub-

    • Evidence-based practice researched and posted for support in training curriculum and quality
      assurance improvement activity
    • Information and links for Child and Families Services Review (CFSR), round II
  • Accessible 24 hours/7 days from any computer with an internet connection


What's to Come:
  • Embedded links that will allow user to expand and continue

  • Keyword search capacity using common language and language
    specific to Child Welfare Professionals in Florida (user ability to
    search using commonly used acronyms)
  • Collaboration with DCF for interpretation of law, rule, and policy -
    ask a question requiring an authoritative interpretation of law and
    receive a response that will be posted for all
